How to Use Fitting Results Before You Buy

Turn launch-monitor numbers and recommendations into a smart purchase decision.

Read the report as a whole

Don’t buy based on the single longest shot. Look for patterns: carry distance, dispersion, launch, spin, peak height, descent angle, strike, and how the club felt across several swings. Consistency beats the occasional rocket.

Ask what changed

A useful fitting result should explain why the recommendation worked. Was it more loft? Shorter length? Different shaft weight? Better lie angle? If you understand the change, you’ll make better decisions later.

Compare cost and impact

Sometimes the full recommendation is worth it. Other times, the smartest first step is adjusting lie angles, replacing grips, changing one wood, or fixing wedge gaps.

Before buying, confirm:

  • Specs are written clearly.
  • Shaft, head, loft, lie, length, and grip are listed.
  • Build tolerances and delivery timeline are understood.
  • Return or adjustment policy is clear.
  • The clubs fit the rest of your bag.

Test if possible

If you can, hit the recommended build again on a different day or outdoors. Indoor fittings are valuable, but seeing ball flight and turf interaction can add confidence.

Quick recap

Use fitting results to make a measured decision. Buy the setup that improves your normal shots, fits your budget, and makes the whole bag work together.
