Draw shots
Common Draw Shots Mistakes and Simple Fixes
Turn overcorrections into playable curve by matching start line, path, and face.

Read the miss before fixing it
The common error in draw shots is reacting to the last ball instead of the pattern. One overcooked hook may be setup, timing, or simply a poor strike. Several balls starting on the wrong line mean the draw pattern needs recalibrating.
Simple fixes to test
| Pattern | First check | Better response |
|---|---|---|
| Ball starts off line | Face at address | Re-aim the club, then the body |
| Strike wanders | Distance from ball | Make three half-speed swings |
| Curve doubles | Path and face gap | Shorten the swing and reduce speed |
Avoid the opposite miss
If a hook that starts left or a push that never turns shows up, do not chase the mirror-image mistake. Change either aim, path, or face—not all three—and let a short set show what moved.
