Change drivers when the current club clearly limits launch, spin, strike, or dispersion. New paint is not a performance category.
Upgrade checklist

- Hit enough shots to see misses.
- Test with your normal ball if possible.
- Compare carry, total, height, and dispersion.
Final decision
The right upgrade makes your ordinary tee shot more useful. If it demands a career-best swing, it belongs back on the rack.
