Pitching
Common Pitching Mistakes and Simple Fixes
Fix pitch shots that come out heavy, thin, too high, or with no distance control.

The common faults
Most pitching trouble comes from trying to help the ball up or slowing down because the shot feels delicate. The club hits the turf early, the leading edge catches the middle of the ball, and suddenly a simple up-and-down becomes a scramble for bogey.
Simple fixes
- Keep a little pressure on the lead foot.
- Turn the chest through instead of flipping the hands.
- Use a shorter backswing if you tend to decelerate.
- Practice landing zones, not only total distance.
