How to Care for Putters
Simple care habits that keep your putter looking good and rolling the ball consistently.

Protect the face
Your putter face is a precision surface. Sand, grit, and bag chatter can change feel and scratch inserts. Use a headcover, wipe the face before practice, and keep the grooves or milling clean.
Check the grip
A slick grip creates tension. If your hands squeeze harder just to feel secure, distance control suffers. Clean the grip occasionally and replace it when it gets shiny or hard.
Store it like it matters
Do not leave the putter loose in a trunk through heat and cold. Treat it like the scoring club it is. You may hit driver 12 times; you may use the putter 30-plus times.
