Exotics MB
A forged muscleback in 1025 carbon steel with a thin topline, minimal offset and a VIBRCOR channel to manage feel. It is a proper blade, with everything that implies.
Feedback is excellent and forgiveness is minimal. A strike half an inch off centre loses distance and, more importantly, height, so the ball lands flat and runs off the back.
Suitable for genuinely consistent ball strikers who want control over flight.
Exotics CB
A forged cavity back sharing the same styling and technology. It looks like a players’ iron at address but has real perimeter weighting behind the face.
For most golfers who want a forged Exotics iron, this is the right one. The shape gives up nothing meaningful to the MB and the mishit performance is considerably better.
Exotics Max
The game-improvement option — wider sole, more offset, stronger lofts and substantially more help on strikes low on the face and toward the toe.
If your main problem is getting mid and long irons airborne, this is the correct tier and there is no case for anything above it.
The combo set is the point
MB and CB are designed to be combined, and Tour Edge builds them that way. CB in the long irons and MB from the 7-iron down is a build that keeps forgiveness where mishits cost most.
Very few players are best served by musclebacks through the whole set. The long irons are the hardest clubs to strike and the place a blade punishes hardest.

Choosing honestly
Hit ten 6-irons and look at how the ball lands. If most of them descend steeply enough to stop, the forged pair are open to you. If several run out, take the Max and enjoy holding greens.
Fitting tip: Ask for a CB and MB combo quote rather than a single-model set. Most good players prefer the combo once they hit both, and it is cheaper than adding long irons separately later.
