Solid milled feel, sensible shapes, clear alignment aids and a price well below the premium putter brands.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The models are named after Chicago landmarks — Bucktown, West Loop, Bean and others. The names describe nothing about the specification, so ignore them and look at the head shape.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Ch3>Zero Torque: ZT 606 and ZT Lake View\u003C\u002Fh3>\n\u003Cp>The more interesting recent development. On a conventional putter the shaft attaches near the heel, so the head’s mass sits to one side of the shaft axis and the face tends to rotate open and closed through the stroke.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Zero-torque designs balance the head around that axis so the face stays square with far less input from your hands. \u003Cstrong>ZT 606\u003C\u002Fstrong> and \u003Cstrong>ZT Lake View\u003C\u002Fstrong> are the current models.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Ch3>Who zero torque helps\u003C\u002Fh3>\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Golfers whose putts start offline inconsistently.\u003C\u002Fstrong> If your reads are fine but your start direction varies, face rotation is the likely cause.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Golfers who miss short putts both ways.\u003C\u002Fstrong> A two-sided miss almost always means face angle variation rather than a path or read problem.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Golfers with an active, handsy stroke.\u003C\u002Fstrong> The design reduces how much hand action affects the face.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Ch3>Who may not get on with it\u003C\u002Fh3>\n\u003Cp>If you have a pronounced arcing stroke and you putt well with it, a zero-torque head can feel unresponsive, because it is resisting something you are doing deliberately.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Feel is also very personal in putters. Some golfers find the stability reassuring and some find it dead. There is no way to know without holding one.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Ch3>Choose the one you can aim\u003C\u002Fh3>\n\u003Cp>Aim consistency is the second-biggest factor in putting after face angle, and it comes down entirely to what your eye likes. A putter you aim well is worth more than any technology in a putter you do not.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cblockquote>\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Coach’s tip:\u003C\u002Fstrong> Aim your putter at a target ten feet away, then have someone check the face with an alignment stick.
