Srixon Golf Clubs
How Srixon Tiers Its Range and Who Each Model Is For
The ladder from ZXi7 to ZXiR, and where most golfers actually belong.

The iron ladder
Ordered by how much help the club gives you:
- ZXi7 — traditional forged players iron. Compact, control-focused, least forgiving.
- ZXi5 — players distance. Forged feel, more speed, a real safety margin.
- ZXi4 — forgiveness-focused. Stronger lofts, larger footprint.
- ZXiR — game improvement. Multi-material, most offset, most help.
Four models, cleanly separated. Srixon’s range is simpler than most, which makes choosing easier.
Where the real steps are
ZXi7 to ZXi5 is a genuine step. You gain meaningful forgiveness and speed while keeping forged feel, and for a lot of good players ZXi5 is the better club.
ZXi5 to ZXi4 is another real step, and this is where the range changes character — from players iron into forgiveness-first design.
ZXi4 to ZXiR is the largest jump. ZXiR is a different kind of club, built for golfers who need substantial help.
Where most golfers belong
Between ZXi5 and ZXiR, with ZXi4 covering a very wide band in the middle.
ZXi7 is a small-audience club, as any traditional forged players iron is. It is also genuinely excellent, which is why it gets bought by people it does not suit.
The drivers are not a ladder
Unlike the irons, the three ZXi RKT heads solve different problems. Standard is balanced, Max is forgiving, LS is low spin.
Asking which is best is a category error. Ask which problem is yours.
Placing yourself honestly
Use evidence rather than ambition:
- Face wear spread across the whole hitting area → ZXiR or ZXi4.
- Centred strike but mishits cost real distance → ZXi4 or ZXi5.
- Consistent centre strike, want control → ZXi5 or ZXi7.
- All of that plus a preference for a traditional look → ZXi7.
Forged does not mean unforgiving
Worth separating two ideas that get tangled constantly. Forged describes how the head is made and strongly influences feel. Forgiveness describes how the head behaves on a mishit, and is determined by size, sole width and weight distribution.
ZXi5 exists to prove those are different questions. You can have forged feel without accepting players-iron punishment.
Combo sets work well here
Srixon’s irons blend readily. ZXi5 long irons into ZXi7 short irons is a standard better-player build. ZXi4 into ZXi5 works the same way a tier down.
The ZXiU utility iron at the top of any of these is one of the most effective single additions in the range.
Coach’s tip: Judge an iron on your worst five shots out of twenty. Srixon’s ladder, like everyone’s, is separated almost entirely by what happens on the bad ones.
