Buying Tour Edge Used: What to Look For

Why the used market is different
Tour Edge sells in smaller volumes than the biggest brands, so second-hand supply is thinner and you will wait longer for a specific model.
The compensation is price. Used Tour Edge clubs are consistently cheaper than equivalent-age clubs from better-known names, because demand follows the badge rather than the engineering.
What to check on metalwoods
Adjustable weights and screws present. The Exotics drivers use sliding and screw-in weights, and a missing one is a real problem to source.
Hosel for reshaft signs. Confirm what shaft is actually in it rather than trusting the listing.
Face and sound. A dull or tinny sound on a titanium or carbon head can indicate a crack. Sky marks on the crown are cosmetic and useful for negotiating.
What to check on forged irons
Lie angle history. Forged heads bend easily, which is a benefit when fitting and a risk when buying used. Ask whether the set has been adjusted and to what.
Groove wear on short irons. The 9-iron and pitching wedge wear first. A fingernail should catch on every groove.
Set consistency. Every club should have the same shaft and grip. Mixed sets get assembled from parts more often than sellers admit.
The lifetime warranty question
Check whether it transfers. Warranty terms vary by brand and by purchase route, and a warranty that only covers the original owner is worth nothing to you. Ask before assuming.
What is safe to ignore
Bag chatter, sole scratches, worn grips. None affect performance, all reduce the price, and regripping is cheap.
The models to target
Previous-generation Exotics forged irons, older Hot Launch combo sets, and Exotics fairway woods and hybrids. The hybrids in particular hold up well, since the technology in that category moves slowly.
Buying tip: Ask for a photograph of the sole showing the weights and the model stamping. It confirms the model, the generation and that nothing is missing, all in one image.
